I attended the Japanese hip society annual meeting last weekend held in
Shinjyuku, Tokyo. I was heavily impressed Mr. Robbie Ohashi's lecture,
who is a well-known Physical Therapist in the US for working with Koji
Murofushi and Kei Nishikori, Yu Darvish. He followed Mrs. Shirley Sahrmann's
concept clinically to prevent injuries and to help boost the natural healing
ability & performance. What he strongly suggested most was that the
medical diagnosis is not a sufficient one to direct Physical Therapy.
Another new topic, the definition of FAI for Japanese has declared.
Still in the process though, but CE angle >25° & exclusion criteria is OA.
This could lead to precise diagnosis and less post-operative side effects
for Japanese.Every time I join the conference, so much to learn and I feel
there is always possibilities lying for Japanese Physical Therapists to challenge.
Time to recognize the role of the PTs!!
